Our Styles of Yoga

We exist to provide adaptable, individualised yoga programs to all levels of ability. Whether you have come to us from a background of trauma, a present of stress and anxiety, or a future living with a disability – we can still give you access to the life-changing benefits of yoga.

All Ability Yoga has blossomed from two decades spent intricately observing teachers across many yoga specialisms. Explore the different styles of yoga we practise for a clearer idea of what we can recommend to you…

Gentle Yoga

Typically described as appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice.

Hatha Yoga

The practice of asanas (yoga postures), and pranayama (breathing exercises), to help bring peace to your mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices, such as meditation.

Restorative Yoga

All about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. During the long holds of restorative yoga, your muscles are allowed to relax deeply. It’s a unique feeling because props, rather than your muscles, are used to support your body.

Yin Yoga

A practice for all levels. Sequences are a series of slow, long holds and mat based postures that stretch out the connective tissues and fascia in the body. With Yin, all you need to do is relax in each pose.

Nidra Yoga

Promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. The stages of body scan and breath awareness alone can be practiced to calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health.

Chair Yoga

Yoga in a chair is simply the ability to breathe and to sit upright, in a chair, while gently moving the torso and limbs.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

A way to learn to calm the minds and regulate physical responses and, thus, emotions. Participants are able to learn to recognize and tolerate physical sensations and gently learn to regain a feeling of safety inside their body. These sessions are delivered by our endorsed Therapists. Sessions are 45 minutes delivered in a trauma informed safe space for maximum benefit of the practice.
